Guardiola accuses his player of obesity: he returned from the World Cup in this condition!
Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola revealed that midfielder Calvin Phillips is overweight and that it is difficult for him to participate in matches for this reason.
Phillips was with the England national team at the Qatar World Cup 2022, but he did not participate mainly in the tournament from which the team was eliminated in the quarter-finals against France.
"He is not injured," Guardiola told reporters.
He added: "He can't play like this. When he's ready he will play because we need him. There will be a private conversation with him soon."
It is worth noting that Phillips joined City from Leeds United for 42 million pounds last summer, but injuries prevented him from appearing as required with the team, as he played only once in the English Premier League.
